Recorded Webinar: Discrete Event and Hybrid Modeling with SimEvents
Complete this request form for immediate access to this webinar and other recorded webinars
The webinar discusses Discrete Event Simulation (DES) and Hybrid modeling and how they can be used to model complex systems in a very straight forward manner.
Modeling complex hybrid systems often requires different models of computation such DES, continuous time and state based methods. The presentation will cover both the issues to consider when modeling hybrid systems and techniques for modeling them.
The webinar also discusses the SimEvents discrete event simulator from The MathWorks. SimEvents can readily be used by students and professors to visualize and better understand the concepts behind the modeling of systems typically discussed in engineering curriculum. Examples of this are queues, constrained resources, manufacturing processes and other event oriented systems.
DES can be used to understand aspects of a complex system that are not readily viewed using continuous time models. SimEvents is not only a discrete event simulator, but can be used in conjunction with Simulink and Stateflow® for hybrid system simulations.
Through a presentation and product demonstration attendees:
- Will be introduced to DES and how it differs from continuous time and finite state machine modeling
- Will be introduced to the issues when modeling hybrid systems
- Will see how a standard product can be used to address these modeling requirements for both research and supporting course material.
This webinar is intended primarily for an academic audience involved in the research and modeling of complex engineering systems.
