Extending Simulink Across Industries and Applications
Block libraries enable engineers to build Simulink simulations for specific applications in the automotive, aerospace, electronics, communications, and other industries.
The dSPACE Automotive Simulation Models provide open, real-time Simulink models of engine and vehicle dynamics. When combined with the dSPACE Simulator, a modular hardware and software system for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation, they enable automotive engineers to test their control strategies systematically in a virtual environment without using real vehicles or prototypes. dSPACE GmbH www.dspace.de
The ETAS LABCAR HIL system provides Simulink models for vehicle dynamics and subsystems such as engines, transmissions, and brakes, enabling earlier testing of control strategies without the need for a real vehicle. These user-extensible models run in real time on the LABCAR hardware platforms. ETAS Group www.etasgroup.com
The MÄK HLA/DIS Toolbox includes a set of VR-Link® based blocks for Simulink that enables aerospace and defense engineers to connect their Simulink models with distributed simulations based on the High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) standards. The blocks can bring HLA/DIS entity data from the network into Simulink simulations and publish the Simulink simulation outputs on the HLA/DIS network. MÄK Technologies www.mak.com
Process control engineers can bring detailed chemical and polymer process models developed in the popular Aspen Dynamics modeling environment into a Simulink model. They can use Simulink to simulate control strategies and test them against the Aspen Dynamics models to optimize process control reliability and safety. Aspen Technology, Inc. www.aspentech.com
Using the PSpice® SLPS and Cadence® Allegro® AMS Simulator SLPS interfaces, electronics engineers can include PSpice/Allegro AMS Simulator electrical circuit models in a Simulink simulation. This capability enables designers of printed circuit boards to quickly identify and correct system integration errors associated with their PCB design and packaging. Cadence Design Systems, Inc. www.orcad.com and www.cadence.com
Link for Virtuoso AMS Designer enables mixed-signal system-on-chip designers to bring analog and mixed-signal components modeled in Cadence Virtuoso® AMS Designer into their Simulink models. The link enables cosimulation of Virtuoso AMS models, including Verilog-AMS and VHDL-AMS, in Simulink. Cadence Design Systems, Inc. www.cadence.com
CoMET is an environment for embedded systems design that features a library of high-speed, cycle-accurate models of embedded CPU cores and peripherals. These “virtual processor” models, running the actual compiled embedded software, can be integrated in Simulink simulations, enabling engineers to assess and optimize system performance for communications and signal processing systems.VaST Systems Technology www.vastsystems.com
FClib is a library of Simulink blocks for designing and optimizing fuel cell systems. The library includes thermodynamic and hydraulic models of fuel cell components, such as reformers, methanizers, stacks, mixers, heat exchangers, pumps, and valves.
