The MathWorks Bundles Additional Products with Student Version R2007a

Gives Students Easy, Affordable Access to Most Widely Used MathWorks Products

NATICK, Mass. - (05 Jun, 2007)

The MathWorks today announced significant upgrades to MATLAB® & Simulink® Student Version, which includes all the capabilities found in MATLAB® and Simulink® and, for the first time, bundles add-on products that were previously available separately.

The additional tools extend MATLAB and Simulink in the application areas of control systems, image processing, optimization, signal processing, statistics, and symbolic mathematics. With MATLAB & Simulink Student Version, students can become proficient in the same tools that engineers and scientists at the world’s leading universities, technology companies, and government labs use to solve their most challenging technical computing problems.

The included add-ons, combined with MATLAB and Simulink, represent the most popular MathWorks products in the academic community:

Today, more than one million engineers and scientists, many of them researchers, instructors, and students at more than 3,500 universities worldwide, use MathWorks products for technical computation, visualization, programming, modeling, and simulation. With added features and upgraded capabilities to assist engineering students and faculty in achieving academic goals, MATLAB & Simulink Student Versionprovides future engineers with the industry’s leading software for solving technical computing problems and designing dynamic control, signal processing, and communications systems.

“The widespread adoption at universities of MATLAB & Simulink Student Version as the standard platform for technical education reinforces our strong commitment to the academic community,” said Cleve Moler, chief scientist at The MathWorks and creator of MATLAB. “The add-on products now included with MATLAB & Simulink Student Version, along with the latest releases of MATLAB and Simulink, equip tomorrow’s engineers and scientists with skills that they can use throughout their careers.”

MATLAB & Simulink Student Version also includes three printed manuals: MATLAB & Simulink Student Version: Introduction and Installation Instructions; Getting Started with MATLAB; and Getting Started with Simulink. The software DVD contains complete product documentation.

Pricing and Availability

MATLAB & Simulink Student Version R2007a is available immediately for the Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Macintosh platforms and can be purchased online. To qualify for purchase, students must be enrolled at a degree-granting institution and have a valid student ID. The student price is $99 in the U.S. and Canada.
