problem with operatos of matrix

Hi all! I have problem with operations for a matrix. When I am putting on command window a matrix with dimensions 20*20 and ask to calculate det() or inv(), matlab stops works and exists with the message " MATLAB has encountered an internal problem and needs to close ". But with dimension less 20 , for example with 19*19 it works well. What is problem? Could you help me to solve it?
P.S. I have bought the student version Matlab
