The Embedded MATLAB User Testimonials

Explore Embedded MATLAB

GlucoLight Corporation

"GlucoLight develops a non-invasive, medical monitoring product that measures blood glucose. Our technology utilizes infrared light and sophisticated image and signal processing methods to detect in real time, structural changes in skin triggered by changes in blood glucose levels.

Using MATLAB, we can analyze and explore data and also model and refine detection algorithms. Initially, to implement and test our algorithms, we were manually translating MATLAB routines into C code, a process that was laborious and fraught with errors. By introducing the Embedded MATLAB language subset and Simulink to the design process, we virtually eliminated the errors previously experienced with manual code translation and have shortened the development of subsequent product generations — from design all the way to implementation.

Our efficiency gains stem from the seamless integration of Embedded MATLAB code within our Simulink model and then the automatic generation of code from Simulink for hardware implementation. Further, the success we experienced with Embedded MATLAB and Simulink also gave us the confidence to begin migration from a general processor platform to a much more efficient DSP embedded platform."

— Matt Schurman, PhD, Chief Technology Officer, GlucoLight Corporation

Metis Design Corporation

"Before we used Embedded MATLAB, we had to translate hundreds of lines of MATLAB code into a different environment. This was especially challenging, as not all destination environments offer such a rich set of libraries and analysis tools as those provided within MATLAB and Simulink. Our use of Embedded MATLAB blocks has greatly facilitated porting chunks of MATLAB code into Simulink.

We can easily test and debug our modules in Simulink before progressing to code generation. Using Embedded MATLAB, we have cut our production time in half as we are able to generate code for hundreds of lines of MATLAB code in a very short period of time."

— Pramila Agrawal, Research and Development Engineer, Metis Design Corporation
