Introduction
Simulink Control Design streamlines the design and analysis of control systems for nonlinear plant models built in Simulink. You can automatically extract linear approximations of your model, perform frequency-domain analysis, and tune the control system parameters directly in Simulink using a range of tools and techniques. Extensive graphical user interface (GUI) and programming capabilities reduce the complexity and time required to develop linearized models and tune controllers.Simulink Control Design eliminates the need for trial and error by providing a systematic method for tuning single- and multi-loop control systems entirely within Simulink. The GUI provides automated design options, implied workflows, and step-by-step guidance through wizards and embedded documentation. It also gives you access to advanced control design techniques, such as pole placement and LQG design.
Key Features
- Provides tools for specifying, calculating, and managing operating points in nonlinear Simulink models
- Provides a workflow-based GUI to manage the entire control design process
- Lets you perform nonintrusive linear analysis of Simulink models
- Enables the tuning of multiloop control systems directly in Simulink
- Provides access to the graphical and automated tuning capabilities in the Control System Toolbox (available separately)
- Lets you numerically optimize your compensators to meet time- and frequency-based requirements (with Simulink Response Optimization, available separately).
- Provides a command-line interface for developing automated linearization scripts and performing batch linearization

Simulink Control Design lets you graphically insert linearization I/Os (annotation) to linearize Simulink models and produce analysis plots. Click on image to see enlarged view.
