Simulink Fixed Point 6.0
Product Description
- Introduction and Key Features
- Working with Simulink Fixed Point
- Modeling Fixed-Point Designs
- Simulating Fixed-Point Designs
- Generating and Deploying Production Code
Introduction
Simulink Fixed Point™ enables the intrinsic fixed-point capabilities of the Simulink® product family, letting you use those products to design control and signal processing systems that will be implemented with fixed-point arithmetic.
You can perform bit-true simulations to observe the effects of limited range and precision on designs built with Simulink, Stateflow®, Signal Processing Blockset™, and other blocksets. Automated fixed-point advisors guide you through the steps to convert floating-point models to fixed-point representations. Fixed-point scaling tools assess and optimize fixed-point behavior based on design ranges and model simulation results.
When used with MathWorks code generation products, Simulink Fixed Point lets you generate C and HDL code that will implement your design.
Key Features
- Fixed-point modeling and simulation in Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded MATLAB™ Function block, Signal Processing Blockset, and other blocksets
- Bit-true, fixed-point arithmetic for code generated by MathWorks C and HDL code generation products
- Control of fixed-point data type and of scaling from 1 to 128 bit word sizes
- Automated advisors for converting models from floating- to fixed-point data types
- Tools for identifying overflow and saturation errors
- Automatic scaling tools for trading off range and precision
- Customizable operators and math functions, to replace native operators and math functions in code generated by Real-Time Workshop Embedded Coder™
